Art fell in love with woodworking in the ninth grade high school wood shop class and stayed with the shop program through graduation.  While in the Air Force he had the opportunity to use the base woodworking shop.  This is where he built a cabinet and speaker system for his custom hi-fi amplifier and tuner which he also built.

Art had a small shop set up in a one and a half car garage, which he maintained for the thirty three years that he lived in Islip, NY.

When he moved to Conover, NC, he instructed the real estate company that he was looking for a woodworking shop on a small piece of property and if it had a house on it that would be nice. Art found just what he was looking for in a 1000sq ft brick bldg. with 12 foot ceilings, double ten foot doors, a 220 volt dedicated electrical service, running water and as an extra bonus, a car lift onto which Art built a table so he can raise and lower any project he is working on.  Yes, it had a house.

When asked what type furniture he makes, Arts answer is one of anything.
